Sync your bookings with other calendars
GetBookable works both ways with your existing calendar apps: you can subscribe to your GetBookable bookings from any calendar, and you can pull in busy time from your other calendars so clients can't book over it. It's all standard ICS — no per-provider setup.
Subscribe to your bookings (outbound)
GetBookable publishes your bookings as a private calendar feed you can add to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or anything that reads ICS.
- In your admin, get your calendar feed URL (and copy it).
- In your calendar app, add a subscribed/Internet calendar using that URL.
- Your bookings appear in your calendar and stay in sync as they change.
The feed reflects booking status — confirmed bookings show as busy; cancellations fall off. The URL contains a private token, so treat it like a password. If it ever leaks, regenerate it from your admin to invalidate the old one.
Use the
https://feed URL when adding it to Microsoft/Outlook. Somewebcal://links don't import reliably there.
Block busy time from other calendars (inbound)
You can point GetBookable at up to three of your own calendars (for example a personal Google calendar). GetBookable checks them regularly and treats their events as busy time, so those slots disappear from your booking page.
- Go to your external-calendars settings.
- Add a calendar with a label and its ICS URL (see below for where to find it).
- Optionally set how often it's checked (the default is every 15 minutes; you can tune it between 5 and 60).
Finding your calendar's address
Each calendar app has a private "secret" or "public" address (an ICS/iCal URL) you paste into Get Bookable. Here's where to find it:
Google Calendar
- On a computer, open Google Calendar and hover over the calendar you want in the left sidebar, then click the three dots → Settings and sharing.
- Scroll to Integrate calendar.
- Copy the Secret address in iCal format (use the secret one, not the public, for a personal calendar). Paste it into Get Bookable.
Apple Calendar (iCloud)
- On iCloud.com or in Calendar on a Mac, make the calendar public (right-click the calendar → Share Calendar → tick Public Calendar).
- Copy the sharing link. It starts with
webcal://— change that tohttps://before pasting it into Get Bookable.
Outlook / Microsoft 365
- In Outlook on the web, go to Settings → Calendar → Shared calendars.
- Under Publish a calendar, choose the calendar, pick Can view all details, and publish.
- Copy the ICS link (not the HTML one) and paste it into Get Bookable.
Always use the
https://form of the address. Some apps offer awebcal://link — swap thewebcal://forhttps://and it works everywhere, including Get Bookable and Outlook.
Busy vs free
Only events marked busy block your availability. Events you've set to show as free (Apple's "Show As: Free", or the equivalent in other apps) are ignored, so all-day "FYI" events don't wipe out your day. All-day busy events block that day within your opening hours.
Syncing and freshness
Inbound sync runs on a schedule, so there's a short lag (typically 5–15 minutes) between an event appearing in your calendar and the slot closing on your booking page. If a calendar can't be fetched, GetBookable keeps the last known events rather than wiping your blocks — the worst case is a slightly stale block. Your settings show each calendar's last-sync status, and a banner warns you if a calendar has been failing or hasn't synced in a while.
How this affects bookings
Inbound busy time joins your opening hours and closures in deciding which slots are offered. A client simply never sees a time you're busy — the booking page doesn't reveal that external calendars exist.
